About Stolin Gum Astringent Stolin Gum Astringent belongs to a class of drugs called ‘antiseptic’ primarily used to treat gum problems like swollen, bleeding, spongy, or loose gums. Besides this, Stolin Gum Astringent is used to treat mouth ulcers, pyorrhoea (a severe gum infection that destroys jawbone and loosens teeth), gingivitis (gum inflammation), or Vincents disease (dirty grey ulceration of the mucus membranes). Stolin Gum Astringent is a combination of three drugs, namely: Tannic acid (astringent), Zinc chloride (hemostatic agent and astringent), and Cetrimide (antiseptic). Tannic acid is an astringent and protein that helps to contract skin cells, thereby healing and relieving irritation due to mouth ulcers. Zinc chloride is a hemostatic agent with astringent properties that prevent bleeding and toughen the skin. Cetrimide is an antibacterial that works by preventing microbe growth (bacteria) that could infect broken skin in the mouth. Use Stolin Gum Astringent as advised by your dentist. Your doctor will advise you how often you take Stolin Gum Astringent based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience irritation at the site of the application. Most of these side effects of Stolin Gum Astringent do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. If you are allergic to Stolin Gum Astringent or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you have asthma, blood clotting disorders, or digestive system problems (ulcers), inform your doctor before taking Stolin Gum Astringent. Stolin Gum Astringent is for external (dental) use only. Avoid contact of Stolin Gum Astringent with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case Stolin Gum Astringent comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly.
