About Nebicard-V Tablet Nebicard-V Tablet belongs to the group of medications called antihypertensives primarily used in the treatment of hypertension. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a chronic (long-term) condition in which blood pressure is elevated persistently at higher than normal levels. If left untreated, this condition can increase the risk of heart-related diseases like heart attack, heart failure, stroke, irregular heartbeat and other complications. Nebicard-V Tablet contains Nebivolol and Valsartan. Nebivolol is a beta-blocker. It works specifically on the heart to reduce heart rate and lower blood pressure making it easier for the heart to pump blood to all parts of the body. Valsartan is an angiotensin-II receptor blocker (ARB). Angiotensin narrows the blood vessels increasing the blood pressure, therefore, blocking angiotensin can result in widening of the narrowed blood vessels. Together, Nebicard-V Tablet can effectively treat hypertension or high blood pressure. You should take this medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The common side-effects of Nebicard-V Tablet are nausea, vomiting, bradycardia (slow heartbeats), dizziness, hypotension (low blood pressure), hyperkalemia (increased potassium levels in the blood) and elevated liver enzymes. Inform your doctor immediately if any of these side-effects persist or get worse. It is not recommended to take Nebicard-V Tablet if you are allergic to any contents of it. It is also not recommended for patients with sick sinus syndrome (unless you have a pacemaker), heart block, severe heart failure, severe liver disease and history of bradycardia (slow heartbeat) that have resulted in fainting. Nebicard-V Tablet should not be used in children and adolescents below 18 years of age, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. It should be used with caution in elderly people. Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase the risk of side-effects. Nebicard-V Tablet may cause dizziness, so avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you feel dizzy.
